Excellence, Prestige, Commitment…
These are just a few choice words to describe this event and the athletes who were commended for all their hard work throughout 2023/2024!
The GKF Awards and Squad Training is the most prestigious event on the GKF calendar and was held at the Midrand Biker’s Church on 17th August 2024. This event is an opportunity to award students selected to represent the GKF team, ELITE Athletes at the KSA National Children Cadet Junior Seniors and Veterans and those who represented South Africa abroad.
Fourways Martial Arts Academy had 18 of our students awarded at the GKF Awards.
They did a superb job at bringing back well over 13 trophies for not only achieving Gauteng Colours and a medal position at the KSA Nationals earlier this year but also for representing South Africa abroad at the various WKF events namely:
- Region South Championships (Namibia)
- WKF Training Camp & Youth Cup (Croatia)
- UFAK Africa Cup (Tunisia)
- Commonwealth Championships, (South Africa)

Finally, I want to extend a heartfelt congratulations to four of 4Ways students: *Stef, Silvio, Alessandro and Sarah*, for their outstanding achievement in winning the SA Championship and Protea Trophy Awards. I would also like to recognize Georgia Van Der Schyff, Georgia Knight, Liam Maraschin, and Sarah Rotshtein for earning their Protea Colours for the first time this year.
It’s truly remarkable to see such success, especially coming from one of the best dojos in the country, Fourways Martial Arts Academy.
This accomplishment is even more impressive given that Gauteng is the strongest province in the country.
I’m proud of each and every student who is part of Fourways Martial Arts.
