South Africa, Durban 2024
It is with immense pride and joy that I announce and congratulate the remarkable students from Fourways Martial Arts Academy. Some of them have been awarded their official Protea colors and have represented South Africa at the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship, showcasing their skills with exceptional grace, winning a total of 9 medals. This prestigious event took place in Durban, South Africa, at the Olive Conference Center from November 28th to December 1st, 2024. Competing against 20 countries, our team rose to the occasion, securing first place for South Africa, with India following in second, Australia in third, and Canada in fourth.

To put this achievement into perspective, the fact that Fourways Martial Arts Academy secured 9 medals, including 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 6 Bronze, while having 17 team members competing, is truly extraordinary and speaks to the dedication and spirit of our athletes.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who provided support to the children leading up to this momentous event. A special thank you goes out to each competitor for their relentless effort and commitment throughout the year, starting from the trials in March and maintaining their momentum.
